They should be a team player who works to procure materials for inventory at the right time and at the best cost while maintaining quality and ensuring a smooth supply chain operation.
This role is critical for our company's service and growth.
Responsibilities ? Support all departments and their purchasing needs.
? Identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products or services to determine which best meet the organization's needs.
? When needed, negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms for the organization.
? Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of orders, contracts, communications, and other relevant information from vendors.
? Build and maintain good relationships with vendors and evaluate their performance regularly to ensure quality and reliability.
? Keep COGS pricing up-to-date with vendor price changes.
? Work with the Product Launch Coordinator to onboard new products and vendors.
? Work closely with the Logistics Manager and Inventory Specialist to optimize inventory levels and forecast the company's needs accurately and in a timely manner.
? Constantly seek ways to improve the procurement process, streamline operations, and enhance efficiency.
Functional Competencies ? Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality ? Excellent communication skills ? Good understanding of financials, negotiation, and problem-solving skills ? Working knowledge of inventory level optimization and an understanding of material flow ? Analytical, with ability to review and interpret data, and to make recommendations and decisions ? The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers ? Excellent project management skills.
